Set in the early 1950s of New York City, Carol, who is played by Cate Blanchett, is a woman who is going through a difficult divorce. She meets Therese, an aspiring photographer played by Rooney Mara. The film revolves around the forbidden affair between these two women.

Notes On A Scandal (2007)

Starring not one, but two highly acclaimed actresses, Notes On A Scandal has been given four Oscar nominations in 2007. In this film, Cate Blanchett has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress while her co-star Judi Dench has been nominated for Best Actress. The film was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Score. Notes On A Scandal is a psychological thriller-drama that was directed by Richard Eyrie. It was adapted from the 2003 novel by Zoe Heller also with the title Notes On A Scandal.

I’m Not There (2008)

I’m Not There is a musical drama film that was inspired by the life and music of the amazing American singer, Bob Dylan. The film was directed by Todd Haynes and was co-written by Oren Moverman.
